Cup Competitions
Southey Trophy
Congratulations to Chew Stoke Ladies for reaching the final of the Southey Trophy.
Playing City of Wells in the semi-final we won on two rinks, drew one and lost on one giving victory by 2.5 to 1.5.
Our opponents in the final will be Ilminster who overcame the home club, Portishead RBL by winning the extra end.
The final will be played on Sunday 14 September at Portishead.

In this competition the winner is decided based on number of rinks won. If there is a tie on rinks then the total shots are taken into account.

Fear Cup
The ladies had a good win against Prattens in Round 5 of the Fear Cup and now play Keynsham for a place in the semi-finals. Hopefully they will be able to emulate their achievements so far in the Southey Trophy.

Turnbull Cup
Chew Stoke men welcomed St Annes Park in round 4 of the Turnbull cup.
St Annes were fresh off of a good win against Weston Bath in the previous round so we knew this would be a tough game.
This was a match played on four rinks and Chew Stoke won on two rinks, drew another and were only defeated on one rink.
However the loosing rink was enough to turn the match in St Annes favour as they ran out winners by 61 shots to 59
The game was as close as the result suggests with never more than 5 or 6 shots separating the teams. It was only on the final rink that the game was decided with our visitors picking up a three to ultimately win the match.

This means that we now move into the Plate competition
