C&D Over 55 Triples
Congresbury - C&D Knockout Cup

A warm and pleasant afternoon, after a few days of unsettled weather, saw Chew Stoke welcome the Congresbury over 55 team in the C&D Knockout Cup.
They were also greeted by several Buzzards circling overhead and the rare, but welcome sight, of a Red Kite.
We got to the final of the C&D knockout cup last year ultimately losing the match to a very strong Portishead RBL team.
We lost a close game to Congresbury just two days earlier in the C&D League but hopes were high that we could emulate our run last year and beat them in this first round match.
Unfortunately another close game saw Chew Stoke on the losing side again by 104 shots to 95. Although Congresbury seemed determined to give us the win by marking some of the rink score cards round the wrong way.
Once again though we were struggling to field a full team of 18. The relaxing of the rules this year allowing up to two under 55 year olds probably came to our rescue.
