Chew Stoke Bowling Club
About Us
Nestled in the Chew Valley and just a short walk from Chew Valley Lake lies Chew Stoke Bowling Club.
The club was founded in 1985 and still boasts a number of founder members actively playing and passing on their knowledge and experience to others.
We have a "world class" green with our green keeper, Martin Tibbs, not only being the County Greens adviser but also being shortlisted for Bowls England Green keeper of the year in 2022.
We are very lucky to have a spacious club house with plenty of free parking, changing rooms, a fully equipped kitchen and a members bar.
The outdoor season starts in April and finishes in September and for those who want more we have an indoor short mat league operating during the winter months.
We run both mens and ladies teams with mixed friendlies being an integral part of the summer calendar. The men's teams enter the Somerset and Clevedon district leagues with the ladies playing in the North Somerset and DRT leagues.

We offer taster days with Monday club night being a friendly and relaxed environment to come and practise your skills.
Just be warned - you may find bowling addictive.
We are affiliated to Bowls England and Somerset Bowls Association
Club Nights
Monday night is club night where all members are welcome. We meet up at 6 o'clock and generally play 10 to 12 ends before retiring to the club house for refreshments. This season we will also be running a friendly league where we pair more experienced members with beginners in a four person team.
It's a great way to start to get to know other members and to pick up tips and practice your skills.
You will often find one or more of our club coaches around on a Monday night and time can be booked with them for more individual coaching.
Safeguarding
The club has access to specially designed wheelchairs and will be able to provide guidance on bowls equipment and aids as required to enable players to participate if at all possible.
